The LifeTides Institute is dedicated to educating people, especially young people, about the natural beauty and wonder of the Low Country region of South Carolina.
We were founded in 2002 with a mission to protect the coastal lands of this region by educating as many people as possible about the importance of where we live. We believe that to learn about this area is to know it, and to know is to care about a place, and to care about a place is to help with its stewardship for the future. We are especially interested in working with young people — to help their minds grow — to see the connections of this environment to life, to imagine the possibilities and to help become leaders for their own future.
